Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data UPSC2IAS (upsc2ias.com) collects, why, who can see it, how we protect it and what you can do about it. It applies to the website and every part of the service.

  1. 1. What we collect

    • Account: your name, email, username and password (stored only as a hash). If you sign in with a third-party account, we receive your name, email and profile picture from it.
    • Your preparation: the exams you follow, your language preference and your profile details.
    • What you upload or write: answer PDFs and photos, the marks, feedback and drawings of evaluations, ratings, questions, series, comments, reports and group activity.
    • Messages to us: what you write in the support inbox, by email or on Telegram, and our replies.
    • Technical data: basic logs (IP address, browser, time of request) to keep the site secure and working.
    • Usage data: information about how you use the site, such as the pages you visit, the features you use and how you interact with them. It helps us fix problems and improve the service.
  2. 2. Why we use it

    • to run your account and sign you in;
    • to show your answers to evaluators, return their feedback, and keep your history and stats;
    • to send emails you need, such as sign-up codes and password resets, and site notifications;
    • to prevent abuse, handle reports and keep the site secure;
    • to answer your messages and complaints;
    • to understand how the site is used and improve it, for example where the error is while uploading an answer.
  3. 3. Why we are allowed to use it

    We use your personal data because you agree to it when you create an account and use the site, and only for the purposes in this policy. We also use it where the law allows without consent, for example to meet a legal duty, to respond to a court or government order, or to protect someone's safety.

    You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights). Withdrawing it does not undo what was done before, but it means we can no longer run your account.

  4. 4. Who can see what

    • Your answers are shown to other aspirants so they can evaluate them, and to anyone who has a share link to them. In a group, members and admins see answers as the group's settings allow.
    • Your profile (name, username, picture, and counts such as answers written) is public.
    • Evaluations you give are seen by the writer of the answer, and your evaluator rating is public.
    • Private questions and series are seen only by the people you share them with.
    • Groups: a group's name and description are visible to anyone, and members see who else is in it. Who sees marks and the marksheet depends on the group's settings.

    Do not write your phone number, address or other personal details on an answer sheet.

  5. 5. Your choices

    • Edit your name, picture, exams and language in Settings at any time.
    • Keep a question or series private, and choose who it is shared with.
    • Leave a group whenever you want.
    • Block or mute people you do not want to hear from.
    • Clear your browser's cookies and storage to remove the analytics ID kept on your device.
  6. 6. Who we share it with

    We do not sell your data and we show no ads. A few service providers process data only to run the site:

    • file storage, for uploaded answers;
    • sign-in, if you choose to sign in with a third-party account;
    • email, for sign-up and password emails;
    • product analytics (PostHog), for the usage data above;
    • hosting, for the servers and the database.

    They may use the data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, for example to answer a lawful request from a court or the police.

  7. 7. Data stored outside India

    Some of our service providers store or process data outside India. We send data only to countries the Government of India has not restricted, and we choose providers that protect it to standards similar to this policy.

  8. 8. How we protect it

    UPSC2IAS (upsc2ias.com) is run by MVP Tech Solutions (“we”, “us”), which decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for keeping it safe.

    • All traffic to the site is encrypted (HTTPS).
    • Passwords are stored only as a hash, never as text.
    • Uploaded answers are kept in private storage and shown only to the people allowed to see them.
    • Access to the servers and the database is limited to the people who run the site.

    No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.

  9. 9. If there is a data breach

    If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires, with what happened, what it may mean for you and what we are doing about it.

  10. 10. How long we keep it

    We keep your data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data and uploaded answers within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep. Evaluations you gave others may stay, without your name, so their feedback is not lost. Copies in our backups are removed as those backups expire. Logs are kept only as long as needed to keep the site secure.

  11. 11. Your rights

    Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:

    • ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
    • correct or update it (most of it you can edit yourself in Settings);
    • withdraw your consent and have your account and data deleted;
    • raise a complaint (a grievance) with us and, if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India;
    • name someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or cannot act.

    To do any of these, email [email protected] or message us on Telegram at @upsc2ias_support from the email of your account. We reply within 30 days. There is no delete button in the app yet, so deletion is by request.

  12. 12. Cookies

    We use cookies and your browser's storage to keep you signed in, to remember settings such as the theme, and for our own product analytics (an anonymous ID until you sign in). We use no advertising cookies and share nothing with advertisers.

  13. 13. Links to other sites

    The site links to commission websites, official notices and other pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for what they collect.

  14. 14. Age

    UPSC2IAS is for people aged 18 and over (see the Terms). If you believe someone under 18 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.

  15. 15. Changes

    We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you on the site about important changes.

  16. 16. Contact and grievances

    Questions about this policy: email [email protected] or message us on Telegram at @upsc2ias_support.

    Complaints about how we handle your data go to the Grievance Officer, UPSC2IAS. Email: [email protected] (write “Grievance” in the subject). We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receiving it.
